WE GO AGAIN: Miami dolphins officially announce the bringing back of their formal star as their back up quarterback, who once left NFL startled.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Miami Dolphins have re-signed former star quarterback Ryan Tannehill as their backup quarterback, more than four years after he departed the organization in a contentious trade.

Tannehill, who was the Dolphins’ starting quarterback for seven seasons before being traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2019, has returned to the organization to act as a mentor and veteran presence in the locker room, according to team sources. “We’re thrilled to have Ryan back in a Dolphins uniform,” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said in a statement.

The move to bring Tannehill back to the team comes after months of speculation about the Dolphins’ quarterback situation, with many observers questioning the team’s decision to trade away veteran signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa earlier in the offseason.

With Tannehill now in the fold, the Dolphins will be hoping that his experience and leadership can help to stabilize the position and provide a steadying influence in the locker room.

“Ryan has always been a great teammate and a consummate professional,” said one Dolphins coach.

Tannehill’s return with the Dolphins is also viewed as a favorable indication for the team’s rookie quarterback, Josh Rosen, who has battled to establish his footing in the NFL since being selected in 2018. With Tannehill now functioning as Rosen’s mentor, the Dolphins are hopeful that the rookie quarterback will be able to learn from one of the most experienced and successful quarterbacks in franchise history. “Ryan’s presence will be a huge benefit to Josh Rosen’s development,” another Dolphins coach stated.
