The enforcer for the Knights is anxiously waiting for the star to fall.
Newcastle Knights center Leo Thompson, who was placed on report for foul play during his team’s victory over the Storm, will now wait to hear from the match review committee.
The referee became enraged with Thompson with fifteen minutes remaining in the contest because he helped to unseat Ryan Papenhuyzen.
Thompson missed his jump to grab the ball, causing Papenhuyzen to fall onto his back.

The Knights were ahead 14-6 at the moment the prop was put on report.
Papenhuyzen’s effort was deemed “spectacular” by league great Steve “Blocker” Roach, as the fullback managed to get back up straight after a frightening fall.
Roach said on Fox League, “It takes the wind out of you landing like that.”

With Christian Welch, Jahrome Hughes, Cameron Munster, and Nelson Asofa-Solomona all out of the game, Melbourne was severely shorthanded going into the contest in Newcastle.
Both teams’ lack of cohesiveness was evident as the Knights gave up 12 errors while the Storm committed 13.
Newcastle had a 14-0 lead at the break after to goals from Kalyn Ponga and tries from Dane Gagai and Enari Tuala.
The Storm responded with Papenhuyzen in the 48th minute, but Tyran Wishart’s fake trick on Jayden Brailey in the 75th minute was their next score.
In the last seconds of the game, with the score at 14-12, Papenhuyzen tried a two-point field goal but missed, giving the Knights their first victory of the year.
Next Sunday, Newcastle travels to New Zealand to play the Warriors, while Melbourne is off.
