Dele Alli has set himself the objective of joining England’s FIFA World Cup squad in 2026. The 28-year-old has 37 senior international caps and memorably scored in England’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Sweden at the 2018 World Cup. However, he hasn’t represented his country since 2019. Dele’s club career has similarly stagnated in recent years.

Since joining Everton from Tottenham in January 2022, he has only played 13 games. Dele has suffered with injuries since leaving Spurs. He has also struggled with mental health concerns, as he revealed in an emotional interview with Gary Neville last year after spending six months at a rehab center in the United States.

Dele is scheduled to be released by Everton at the end of the season, but he insists there is still plenty of life in his career.
