SO BAD: AC Milan super star say emotional goodbye.
Alessandro Nesta, an AC Milan veteran, could become Monza’s new coach next season, with Raffaelle Palladino slated to leave.
According to Calciomercato.com, Monza CEO Adriano Galliani is eager to reunite with Nesta and believes the former Milan defender is the best candidate to succeed Palladino.
There is no official confirmation that Palladino is leading Monza but the widespread belief is that he has done all he can with the team who currently sit in mid-table.
There is a chance that Palladino will replace Thiago Motta at Bologna if Motta were to join Juventus or AC Milan in the summer. Nesta played for Milan between 2002 and 2012 and he then moved into a coaching capacity.
He has been in the dugout at Miami FC, Perugia, Frosinone and Reggiana, which is where he is under contract until the end of the current season.
They are currently 12th in the Serie B standings which means they are not likely to get into the promotion play-offs, but should also avoid relegation to Serie C.
It is apparent that the Monza position would be a step up for Nesta, and if Galliani offered it, he would very probably accept.
