SAD NEWS:Rangers will proceed with caution behind the scenes with a player who might be absent for weeks.
Whenever Kemar Roofe returns to training, Rangers will be cautious, according to Dr. Rajpal Brar.
According to the injury specialist, the Jamaican striker has been sidelined since December due to an injury and is likely to miss several more weeks.
There were even concerns that, should he not be able to regain his full level of fitness, he could have to retire.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar spoke exclusively with Ibrox News about his circumstances. He said:
“It doesn’t surprise me to see some alteration in his timeline and targets because they are more ambiguous than anything else, especially after a lengthy period out.
“He may still be absent for a few weeks, but it’s possible that his contract situation is motivating him more than usual.
“The doctors will be working diligently behind the scenes to be methodical and thorough with his return, as his fitness record isn’t the best.”
Next season, Roofe might not play for the Rangers.
The Jamaican international’s deal at Ibrox expires in the summer, and there’s a good probability the team won’t extend it.
There would have been a case to keep him if he had been fit, but the manager may not have found him to be dependable based on the fact that he has only appeared in nine league games this season.
Though it will be much more difficult for him to break free from his cycle of re-injury at thirty-one, perhaps he can turn things around.
