The news that Los Angeles Rams standout defensive tackle Aaron Donald will be retiring from sport shocked the NFL community on Friday morning. The Rams will now have to move forward without the best player in their team’s history, Donald, who oversaw his career established himself as one of the greatest players in NFL history.
Erica, Donald’s wife, was one of the people who was naturally upset by the news and rushed to Instagram to share her feelings over her husband’s retirement.
“I am incredibly proud of you.” The profession you had, the benefits you bestow, and the guy you are as a spouse and father. I adore you to the hundredth power. In part, Erica Donald wrote, “Cheers to the next chapter.”
Though he ironically was framed by some as being “too small” for his position coming out of college, Aaron Donald found creative ways to get to the quarterback consistently, and the Rams and their fans will always be grateful for his contribution to the franchise, which culminated with a Super Bowl victory, in Los Angeles no less, back in the 2021–22 season against the Cincinnati Bengals. As previously mentioned, one would be hard-pressed to find a better defensive tackle in any era of the NFL than what Aaron Donald brought to the Rams during his legendary career there after playing his college football at Pittsburgh.
