REPORT: Valentino Rossi accept fined of $87.7 million for cardinal infraction.
Valentino Rossi, one of the most successful and beloved MotoGP riders in history, has been fined $87.7 million for a “cardinal infraction” at a recent race.
The incident, which apparently occurred at the Aragon Grand Prix, is believed to have involved Rossi breaking track rules, resulting in a severe collision with another rider and a serious accident. “Valentino Rossi’s actions were completely unacceptable and showed a blatant disregard for the safety of other riders,” said a FIM spokeswoman.
Rossi, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest MotoGP riders of all time, was quick to apologize for his actions and accept responsibility for the incident.
“I want to apologize to the other riders involved in the crash, and to the fans who were watching the race,” Rossi said in a statement.
“I made a mistake, and I take full responsibility for my actions. I will do everything in my power to make sure that this kind of incident never happens again.”
Despite Rossi’s apologies, many in the MotoGP community are outraged and disappointed by the veteran rider’s actions, with some pushing for him to be banned from racing.
“Valentino Rossi has always been a respected figure in the sport, but this incident has tarnished his legacy,” one MotoGP pundit stated. “He needs to face serious consequences for his actions, and the FIM must send a message that this kind of reckless behavior will not be tolerated.”
