Robinho, a former player for Milan and Manchester City, will serve out his nine-year sentence for rape in Italy by being transferred to prison in Brazil, according to a ruling by the supreme court.

The retired athlete and a few of his friends were found guilty in 2017 of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a Milan bar in 2013.

Despite being given a nine-year prison sentence, he refused to go back to Europe because Brazil and Italy do not have an extradition agreement.

Instead, it was up to the Brazilian Supreme Court to decide if Robinho would have to do his time in his native country.

Despite the votes of two Supreme Court justices who opposed it, the ruling was made by a majority.

From 2010 to 2014, Robinho played for Milan for four seasons, and the rape took place inside the club during this time.

This week, the former Real Madrid player suggested on Record TV that his conviction was “unjustly” due to “racism” in Italy.
