REPORT: Max Verstappen has been barred from Red Bull Racing for using racial slurs against one of Formula One’s finest drivers, Sergio Perez.
Formula One fans were startled to learn that reigning world champion Max Verstappen has been punished from Red Bull Racing for using a racial term on teammate Sergio Perez during a heated exchange.
Verstappen, known for his fierce nature and aggressive racing style, reportedly lost his cool during a post-race debriefing session and used a racist slur on Perez, calling him a “coconut head” due to his Mexican origin.
The use of the slur has been met with widespread condemnation from both within and outside of the racing community, with many calling for Verstappen to face severe consequences for his actions.
Red Bull Racing issued a statement condemning the driver’s behavior and announcing that he would be suspended from the team’s upcoming races as a result of the incident.
“Red Bull Racing has a zero-tolerance policy for racial discrimination and derogatory language,” the statement read. “The behavior exhibited by Max Verstappen is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
The incident has also reignited long-simmering tensions within the Red Bull Racing team, which has struggled to control the rivalry between its two top drivers.
While Verstappen and Perez have presented a unified front to the cameras, sources within the team have revealed that there has been persistent friction between the two, with Verstappen apparently feeling intimidated by Perez’s improved performance and growing popularity.
“There’s always been a sense of competition between Max and Checo,” a team member stated. “However, this is something else entirely.
