REPORT: Albertini talks about Hernandez, Leao, and Maignan’s future: “I would sell one”.
Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao, and Mike Maignan have all been linked with major clubs in recent months, and they are regarded AC Milan’s studs. Demetrio Albertini, a club legend, has announced that he will sell one of them.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayern Munich is keeping an eye on Hernandez and Maignan, while PSG is actively monitoring Leao. In summary, one or two offers may arrive in the summer, and Milan is willing to listen (albeit only to extremely high ones).
Demetrio Albertini, the former Milan midfielder, was asked about the trio’s future in an interview with the pink tabloid (see photo below). He claimed that he would sell one of them to support the summer mercato, as was done after the sale of Sandro Tonali.
“I’d sell one.” What Milan did with Tonali last summer was the perfect decision, especially for a team looking to strengthen while keeping its finances in line. How would I decide? First and foremost, I would speak with the players to determine who truly wants to stay and support the endeavor.
“I would also consider the personality of the three players in the locker room. The first is more significant than the second, because what do you do with a leader who isn’t invested in the project?” he said.
Milan’s objective has always been to renew Hernandez and Maignan’s contracts, having already done so with Leao last summer. However, given the complexities of the extension talks, bids close to €100 million could persuade them to reconsider, particularly for the goalkeeper.
