According to TeknoZil, Rangers‘ John Lundstram and Borna Barisic are on the verge of departing, with Trabzonspor agreeing in principle to sign the Ibrox duo. After failing to sign new contracts, the two appear to be leaving Ibrox on a free transfer to Turkey.

The Turkish news site stated on Thursday (25 April) that official announcements about Lundstram and Barisic’s transfers will be made soon. These deals were apparently made despite Philippe Clement’s best efforts to maintain ex-Sheffield United midfielder Lundstram, who he values for his versatility. Should the Rangers allow Lundstram and Barisic leave? His management has stated that Lundstram was desired at Rangers, but he appears to have chosen to leave.According to sources, two Rangers players have reached an agreement to depart Ibrox. A formal statement is coming soon.

So far this season, he has played 31 games in the SPFL, assisting four goals but without scoring. This is not surprising given his experience as a defensive midfielder under Clement. He has appeared in over 2600 minutes for the Light Blues and has played a significant role in their title challenge.

Since arriving on a free transfer from Sheffield United, he has proven to be a good business partner. Barasic was signed from Croatian league club Osijek in 2018 and has been a significant player for the past six years.

The 31-year-old has shared left-back duties with Dujon Sterling this season [FotMob], and after only 15 games, he wants to alter things up. It is safe to conclude that Clement does not want the duo to leave Ibrox, but with their thoughts already made up, the Gers can wait for the announcement.
