A former Mavericks player talks about the criticism that Luka Doncic has received recently.
The whole NBA Finals have seen a great deal of criticism directed towards Luka Doncic. Despite playing a significant role in the Dallas Mavericks’ victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, Doncic hasn’t exactly been at his best while facing the Boston Celtics.
Doncic has been under fire from both fans and commentators for his poor performance, and many have demanded that he make some significant adjustments. Although he had an excellent performance in Game 4, the Mavericks were already trailing 3-1 in the series, so it could have been too late for him to have a big impact.
Josh Green tried to defend his friend against these accusations on Sirius XM NBA Radio after hearing all of the abuse leveled at him. “In the end, the group has faith in him,” stated Green.
Despite all of the commotion, Green thinks that Doncic is a trusted teammate and leader by the Mavericks. Regardless of whether the Mavericks can win this series or not, he has had an amazing impact on the team up to this point. Fans can rest easy knowing he will return next season. In the offseason, the Mavericks will need to make a few crucial choices, if the Celtics win the Finals.
Having made it to the Finals, they have the option to attempt to maintain this present roster. Alternatively, they might attempt to add another elite player to their squad, joining Doncic and Kyrie Irving, in the hopes that this would help them go over the hump.
