Caleb Williams is already getting to know Bears’ players.
The Chicago Bears have yet to formally draft Caleb Williams, but the future No. 1 pick is already acting like a part of the team. According to “Waddle & Silvy” of ESPN Chicago, Williams is in Chicago and met with the Bears’ executive office on Tuesday. The quarterback is also said to have dined with some current teammates.
It is unsurprising that the Bears would want Williams to feel at ease with his prospective teammates and surroundings during his visit to Chicago. It helps that Williams appears to be ahead of the curve with this technique. Some may want Williams to try to avoid being drafted by Chicago, but he is definitely not doing so. The Bears have not bothered to keep their first-round pick a secret. They moved Justin Fields to Pittsburgh to make room for Williams and have not seriously considered other quarterbacks. There will be no anticipation on April 25, when the draft begins.
