Andy Halliday suggests active transfer theory after Nico Raskin is ‘done’ at Rangers.
According to Andy Halliday, Nicolas Raskin’s time at Rangers may be up. The 23-year-old Ibrox midfielder has not booted a ball in over a month, with his most recent appearance coming at the start of February in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Motherwell at home. The manager, Philippe Clement, has been pleased with Mo Diomande and John Lundstram in his midfield, with Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell returning ahead of Raskin. Former Gers and current Steelmen midfielder Halliday believes the Light Blues will aggressively seek to trade the Belgian this summer to create room for other targets.
And the lack of playing time suggests that is the strategy for the end of the season. “What’s happening with Raskin by the way?” Halliday offered on Open Goal. “You’d think he’d be done by now. He was left out of the Celtic game and has been an unused substitute for the past few weeks. “To be honest, I’m a fan of Raskin, but he hasn’t performed well this year. Raskin appears to be away for the summer. It’s gotten to the point where he’s not even getting a smell; you’d think they’re deliberately trying to sell him.”
