After departing Leeds United during the January transfer window, Sean McGurk is undoubtedly having an impact for his new team.

Last month, Sean McGurk departed Elland Road due to his inability to get to the first team. During his tenure with the Whites, the 20-year-old was a mainstay of the under-21 team, with three assists and four goals in Premier League 2 this year. However, in January, Leeds gave him the all-clear to sign with Swindon Town.

It appeared to be a wise choice for the child. Realistically, the Robins ought to be in League One rather than sulking in the bottom half of the lower tier. McGurk will therefore have lots of chances to develop throughout his time at the County Ground.

And he’s had a great start.GREAT NEWS: The Winger, who left Leeds in January, has already scored twice in his previous three games for his new team.

Sean McGurk is having a fantastic debut for Swindon

McGurk scored a spectacular goal in his second game to open his Swindon account. And after starting the scoring in Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers, he has now made it two in his previous three games.

McGurk performed a superb job of using a fake to trick the opponent and then find the back of the net. Additionally, he would be instrumental in the third goal that proved to be the game-winning goal, as Rushian Hepburn-Murphy eventually grabbed onto his through ball.

It was time for the child to move on from Leeds.

It makes sense, of course, why Leeds chose to let McGurk go in January. The fact that he did not go on loan beforehand may have been the only surprise.

However, Daniel Farke’s team is really talented in the closing third. For a large portion of this season, players like Jaidon Anthony and

have essentially been benchwarmers. So taking that next step was always going to be quite challenging for McGurk.

At the under-21 level, he had more than shown himself. Therefore, at this point in his career, he could not have continued to play at that level for very long.

Hopefully, McGurk’s recent performance for Swindon is an indication of things to come.
