GREAT NEWS: Blake Griffin Discusses Potential Returns to the NBA.

Derrick White and Payton Pritchard, two guards for the Boston Celtics, appeared on Barstool’s Pardon My Take. They were questioned about the likelihood of former Celtics big man Blake Griffin rejoining the squad this year.

The six-time All-Star has always been close to White and Pritchard, who frequently talk about the mentoring Griffin gave them.

“He’s the best,” said Pritchard and White independently.

Considering that Griffin appeared to have some remaining energy throughout his season with the Celtics, one of the most common questions they were asked was why the former All-NBA star no longer plays.

Pritchard grinned and remarked, “We begged him to; we’ve been begging him to,” as White continued. “I think the whole team has been begging him to come back to Boston.”

a few weeks prior, he sent him a text message asking whether he was prepared for one last chance at a possible championship run.

Pritchard said, “He said he’s enjoying his life.”

Dan Katz, the host of Pardon My Take, then facetiously asked Griffin in a FaceTime conversation why he was not playing any more, wondering if it was because he was no longer able to dunk. Griffin immediately joked back, claiming he was sorry he had answered the phone.

“Yes, we do talk a lot,” Griffin replied. “I’m just enjoying life right now.”GREAT NEWS: Blake Griffin Discusses Potential Returns to the NBA.

Griffin gave no indication when asked if he thought the Boston Celtics would win an NBA championship this year.

“I believe so, those are my top picks,” he continued. “I don’t want to put bad juju on them, but yeah, they’re the heavy favorite in my mind.”

The crew continued to quiz him about why he would not want to return and perhaps earn a ring.

Griffin answered, “Oh man,” as White and Pritchard burst out laughing. He kept joking when Katz questioned whether it had to do with his ability to still dunk. “If you get that out there and enough people start tweeting about it, then yeah, maybe I’ll come back,” he said.

Griffin has frequently expressed in public how much he loved his one and only season as a Celtic and what a fantastic team and location Boston is.

Griffin said, “I mean, Boston is unbelievable.” “It was honestly one of the nicest experiences to play in Boston. The fans are amazing. That team’s players are such a fantastic bunch of guys.”

Griffin’s return to Boston this season obviously has little life left in it, given how late the season is, Boston’s fondness for Neemias Queta, and the probability that he will be the Celtics’ final roster place.

when Boston’s East Finals loss the previous season, Joe Mazzulla claimed to have met with Griffin in the summer but to have left the former superstar alone when he stated that his family was his top priority.
