” FANS MISBEHAVIOR”: Rival club shareholders are furious after Rangers supporters’ conduct – report.
According to Football Scotland, Hibernian CEO Ben Kensell has acknowledged that the team is thinking of reducing Rangers‘ Easter Road ticket allotment as a result of unruly supporters.
This season, supporters of both Glasgow teams have let off fireworks in the away end at Easter Road. This has incited the shareholders of Hibs to become “furious” and urge that the board take action.
Kensell responded, “Of course,” when asked if they had thought about cutting the away allocation, which is currently set at 3,600. Just as Hearts and other teams have. In the SPFL, we are free to lower allocations if we so want.
Are Rangers supporters creating trouble off of Ibrox?
On March 10, Rangers will travel to the capital to play Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarterfinal.
They anticipate 3,600 of their fans attending the rematch of the 2015–16 championship game, although it appears that Hibs will cut the Rangers allocation like other teams have.
Because Rangers is such a big team, their fans commandeer away venues and create an atmosphere that is similar to that of a home game.
In an attempt to unseat Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, they have important away games coming up against Kilmarnock, Dundee, and Ross County. This means that enormous support is needed on away games now more than ever.
Rangers has won ten of the team’s thirteen away league games this season, but their stellar away performance could suffer if other Premiership teams decide to cut down on Rangers’ away games.
Rangers is headed for a domestic treble after winning the Scottish League Cup in December, therefore the players will want to see as many blue shirts in the away ends as possible.
