Hercules, a baby boy, is the first child of Max King and his wife Christy Young, who have revealed the news.

Along with a number of adorable photos of the child, the Canterbury Bulldogs player and his gorgeous partner, both 25, announced the news on Instagram on Sunday. They wrote, “Introducing Hercules Maxwell King.” Christy was holding their baby boy when the ecstatic new parents took a mirror selfie in one of the pictures. Additionally, they released pictures taken soon after Hercules was born.

In an Instagram video, Max and Christy revealed in December that they were expecting their first child. In the video, Christy gave her husband a surprise pregnancy test result, and the happy couple gave one other an embrace. She then shared the news with their families after displaying many positive test results. Christy shared a cute video of herself showing off her baby belly while holding up a series of ultrasound photographs, with the remark, “Baby King coming 2024.”

Surrounded by family and friends, the Bulldogs prop and his new bride exchanged vows in October at Sydney’s top wedding and event venue, Curzon Hall. The pair, who are both Christians, gained notoriety for not having sex while they were engaged. “We have never shied away from our faith because it is so important to us; we are very vocal and proud about it,” In March, Christy spoke on the Hughesy, Ed, and Erin show on 2DayFM. We discussed staying celibate early on—during the first or second date, to be exact.

“We didn’t shy away from having this conversation, and honestly, we’ve seen such fruit in our relationship in terms of communication—it’s just so good.” Christian dating 101

Christy chuckled as she talked about how their pastor introduced them and how being celibate had undoubtedly improved Max’s performance on the football field. “We were introduced at church.” He was sitting in front of me when I was living on the Gold Coast; we didn’t talk that day, but the pastor introduced us. She laughed and said, “If you want a good guy, find him in church.” We’ve just been able to have such wonderful talks and strengthen our relationship when it (sex) isn’t the main focus of everything. We also have such a strong support system for one another. “It helps his game because our relationship has such a solid foundation,” the celibacy says.

Christy acknowledged that, at first, she had second thoughts about their relationship because of Max’s line of work. “Oh you’re a footy player, red flag, what have I got myself into,” I thought when I first met him, the woman recalled. Though when we initially started dating they were like, “as if you guys are” [avoidance of sex], it’s true that his buddies are supportive. The biblical proverb “deny the flesh and God will bless you” has produced amazing results.

The glitzy model exclaimed, “I feel so blessed to have met Max… we are the puzzle pieces that fit together and it’s all down to God.”
