Jarquez Carter, a talented defensive lineman from Newberry, Florida, is one of the standouts of this recruiting campaign. Carter is scheduled to attend Miami’s Junior Day on January 27, indicating the Hurricanes’ strong interest in his potential.
Carter received an offer from the Hurricanes in June, but his recruitment process has been nothing short of amazing. He has received numerous offers from prestigious colleges including Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Washington, and, most recently, USC. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 284 pounds, he has gained recognition as a powerful defensive force.
Carter has had game-day visits to Florida State, Florida, and Central Florida over the past year, as well as an unofficial visit to Tennessee in December. According to MaxPreps, Carter has demonstrated his abilities at Newberry during three seasons, compiling 228 tackles, 81 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, three forced fumbles, two pass deflections, and a fumble recovery. His performances have helped the Panthers reach the Florida 1R playoffs for the third consecutive season.
