MILAN MAKES FIRST CONTACT FOR MARCELO GALLARDO
Milan are considering hiring Marcelo Gallardo as their new manager this summer.
The Rossoneri have not made any significant headway in their pursuit of Sergio Conceicao or Lille’s Paulo Fonseca, but it appears that a new name has joined their shortlist.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, once Gallardo left Al Ittihad, Milan expressed interest in him and requested information about the former River Plate manager, who excelled during his stint at the Argentine giants. Gallardo’s contract with the Saudi club will be terminated shortly.
Milan have looked into the possibilities, and he is another foreign manager they are currently examining. One issue, however, would be Gallardo’s exorbitant compensation demands. He presently makes €22 million per season at Al Ittihad, which Milan just cannot afford. If he is released from the Saudi club following a termination, it will make things easier for both him and Milan.
