BREAKING NEWS: Tigers coach Benji Marshall is accused of being white-antied by the son of one of the game’s greatest players.

After it became known that the Wests Tigers believe former recruitment manager Scott Fulton was attempting to discredit the coach in the media, Wests Tigers coach Shane Richardson called rumors concerning Benji Marshall “bulls**t.”

Concerns over Marshall’s work ethic were voiced last week; it was suggested that he doesn’t work nearly as many hours as the bosses of competing clubs.

In response to the rumors, Marshall stated unequivocally that he is always the “first in the building” before training and acknowledged that, in order to maintain a work-life balance, he “priorities his family between 5-8pm every night.”

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the Tigers believe that former employee Fulton, the son of football icon Bob, has been attempting to discredit Marshall.

During her Monday night speech on Nine’s 100% Footy, Richardson gave Marshall high accolades.

Richardson stated, “We have an agenda and we’re working toward it.”

We will not be deterred from our course by unfounded criticism. We simply keep moving forward. It’s just absurd on all fronts.

In the end, after working with trainers for more than 30 years, I can say that Benji is just as dedicated and hardworking as anyone.

Prior to Fulton being fired by the Tigers in January, Marshall and Fulton had a tense working relationship for several months.

Fulton advocated for a strict, traditional method of coaching, whereas Marshall approaches the role in a more contemporary way.

Marshall’s dedication to his family and maintaining a work-life balance is admirable, according to Richardson.

Richardson stated, “It’s a good thing not a bad thing because he (Marshall) doesn’t work 14 hours a day and wants he and his players to have a family life.”

“I wish I had known that twenty years ago.” In my own life, it would have spared me a great deal of suffering.

I believe he is doing a good job of instilling a balance between work and life.BREAKING NEWS: Tigers coach Benji Marshall is accused of being white-antied by the son of one of the game's greatest players.

“I’ve seen Jason Taylor, Anthony Seibold, and Madge [Michael Maguire]… I’ve witnessed each one. Ultimately, in my opinion, nobody is more meticulous and well-organized than Benji.

Benji is located somewhere between Madge and Wayne Bennett, and that’s a good thing.
