The AC Milan management appears to have reached an agreement on the concept of employing Julen Lopetegui, and Sky has shown a segment on how the squad would look under him.

According to Sky, the 57-year-old Spanish coach has been chosen by management and is ready to sign a contract with the Rossoneri to replace the leaving Stefano Pioli. However, they also add that he is still awaiting Gerry Cardinale’s final decision, both in light of fan dissatisfaction with his possible arrival and in order to determine what other possibilities are available.

Last night on Sky Calcio Club, Paolo Di Canio, a Premier League expert who previously coached Wolverhampton, attempted to describe Lopetegui’s playing philosophy and how Milan may appear under his leadership.

He advises that Mike Maignan stay in goal, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori continue as centre-backs, and Theo Hernandez is a suitable match at left back. However, Di Canio projected the arrival of a new right-back with better attacking ability than Davide Calabria.

To remedy the department’s current lack of balance, a new defensive midfielder would be required, but Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek appear to be perfect No.8s for the former Spain head coach to work with. Christian Pulisic is expected to keep his spot on the right side of the attack because to his technical abilities, while Rafael Leao’s speed and directness provide a contrast on the other flank. A ‘fast’ striker would be required to finish the attack.
