BREAKING NEWS: Haas’s extended absence from the field is confirmed by the Broncos; Munster’s comeback is revealed by the Storm — Casualty Ward.

Superstar prop Payne Haas will miss four to six weeks due to knee surgery, according to Broncos coach Kevin Walters.

Brisbane, who have had a difficult start to the season and play Penrith in the grand final rematch on Thursday night, has suffered a significant setback.

Haas sustained the injury last Thursday night while playing against the Rabbitohs.

“He underwent a few scans. The injury will take four to six weeks to heal, Walters stated on Fox League.

“He’s going to need minor knee surgery. It hasn’t gone smoothly into the first and second trials rounds.

After giving him a thorough examination, the doctors plan to operate on him early the next week. We anticipate that he will be gone for four to six weeks following this little operation.

“I think that’s a fantastic outcome. That is far superior to anything more extended or missing even half a season.

“Once more, Payne is one of those guys—ultra professional—and considering how he takes care of his body and himself, I’d be shocked if he wasn’t back even sooner.”

DATE OF MUNSTER’S RETURN

After their bye in Round 5, Storm officials anticipate that Cameron Munster will make a comeback from a persistent groin ailment.

Melbourne had hoped that Munster would be ready for the season to begin, but the team found it difficult to manage the ailment, which kept coming back.

However, Storm general manager Frank Ponissi stated that they are now certain the standout five-eighth will make a comeback against the Broncos in Round 5.

“We’re really hoping that Cameron will return for the after-bye on Thursday fortnight. He’s getting closer,” Ponissi stated.BREAKING NEWS: Haas's extended absence from the field is confirmed by the Broncos; Munster's comeback is revealed by the Storm — Casualty Ward.

Ponissi further stated that when playing for the North Sydney Bears the previous weekend, teenage fullback Sua Fa’alogo had a left ankle injury. Fa’alogo was scheduled to play in Round 3.

This weekend, star forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona (hamstring) has the opportunity to play for a feeder squad of the Storm with the goal of joining Munster in Round 5.
