Everton player Dele Alli will be a studio guest on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

Dele Alli’s presence on Sky Sports Monday Night Football will prevent Tottenham from receiving £10 million for the midfielder’s transfer to Everton in January 2022. Alli, who has not played this season, will be a commentator for Everton’s Premier League game against Chelsea on Monday.

Spurs included a clause in the Alli deal that would pay them £10 million if the 28-year-old made 20 Premier League appearances on Merseyside. However, injuries and a loss of form will prevent Alli from reaching that total.Everton avoided paying £10 million to Tottenham when Dele Alli signed with Sky Sports MNF.

Alli has only appeared 13 times for Everton since being signed by then-manager Frank Lampard. Everton has seven matches remaining in their fight against Premier League relegation, thus Alli could have potentially achieved 20 games. However, his presence on Sky Sports on Monday means he can only play a maximum of 19 games. The England playmaker is largely anticipated to be released by Everton at the conclusion of the season, meaning Spurs will never get their £10 million fee.

Alli has had a terrible few of years. The former MK Dons prospect suffered in the final months of Jose Mourinho’s tenure and has recently dealt with personal issues. Alli confessed to being sexually molested as a child in a dramatic interview with Gary Neville of the Overlap last summer. He also claimed that he had undergone mental health treatment.

“When I returned from Turkey, I discovered I needed an operation [for a groin injury], and I was in a bad mental state,” he told The Overlap of his return from a loan spell with Besiktas at the conclusion of last season. “I chose to go to a modern-day rehab institution for mental health. They address addiction, mental health, and trauma.
