The whole Formula One grid, according to Fernando Alonso, already knows that Max Verstappen will win the 2024 world championship.
In a victorious 2023 campaign, Red Bull and Verstappen romped to both world titles, completely dominating the opposition.
With a record-breaking 19 victories, Verstappen won the drivers’ world championship for the third time in a row, while Red Bull won 21 of the 22 grand prix.
And following a concerning performance in Bahrain during preseason testing, Red Bull and Verstappen appear to be the overwhelming favorites in 2024 once more.
On the first day of testing, Verstappen finished more than a second ahead of the pack. Ferrari went on to win the next several days, but the Dutchman and his RB20 were incredible all along.
Furthermore, 19 of the 20 Formula One drivers already know they have no realistic chance of winning the championship this year, according to Alonso.
“I don’t have a crystal ball to know what the others are doing,” Alonso stated.
Max holds the title of world champion, and Red Bull is leading the race. Furthermore, the idea they unveiled this year is also unexpected.

Although Alonso believes it is impossible to predict whether the AMR24 will be able to win races this season, Aston Martin had a successful test.
“It’s hard to tell right now [if we have a race-winning car],” he continued.
“I would say that there are less opportunities for everyone to win a race this year after watching Max and the Red Bull vehicle this year. But things are as they are.
