Caleb Williams describes his strategy for winning a championship with the Chicago Bears.
Caleb Williams has big hopes for the Chicago Bears if they pick him in the 2024 NFL Draft. During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, the former USC Trojans quarterback discussed how he can lead the Bears to a Super Bowl victory. “One is through my care, one for football, one for my teammates but also something I’ve done myself is community-wise bringing the whole landscape together,” Williams told the crowd. “I did it at Gonzaga College, and I have done it here at USC. We’ve sold out games at USC, which hasn’t happened in a few years, bringing fans back and spreading love and joy.
“One of the things I get a lot of is kind of what we talked about when I first sat down: I get a lot of thank yous from USC fans and people around the city, not just at the games, but also at Honor Bar and [Beverly] Hills, and I get a random thank you for doing this for USC.” So bringing the community and demonstrating my concern for all three levels for myself, football, my teammates, and the community that makes game days, the game, everything in the city exciting, fun, and pleasurable.
Williams went on to explain that “care goes a long way” when it comes to developing a relationship with a city that adores football. Chicago is one of such places, as fans continue to show up for the Bears after missing the playoffs the previous three seasons. Chicago Bears’ GM discusses what he likes about Caleb Williams. The Bears did their homework on Williams, visiting him at the Combine and USC’s Pro Day before inviting him in for a visit. Bears general manager Ryan Poles explained what sticks out about Williams after speaking with him.
“I think how he prioritizes everything that’s going on in his life with the NIL,” Poles told NBC Sports Chicago in March. “Also, he’s pulling his squad together. You have scenarios where the guy is driving a good automobile and living in a penthouse in Los Angeles. “You may isolate yourself and be different from everyone else, but you get the impression that he’s taking others along and sharing what he has over the last few years to help bind the team. That’s crucial to note. It’s been an interesting experience to unpack since it’s so different, right? You need to adjust your eyes a little.”
