BREAKING: Adli is devastated after’mistakes’ cost Milan the Derby: “We feel very sorry”.

AC Milan lost 2-1 to Inter tonight in the Derby della Madonnina, and Yacine Adli conceded that mistakes were to blame.

Milan entered the game with a clear goal in mind: prevent Inter from winning their 20th Scudetto in such an important game. However, they failed to meet that goal, as they have every other this season.

Francesco Acerbi scored the first goal with an easy header from a poorly marked set piece, and Marcus Thuram increased the lead to make it 2-0 at the break.

Fikayo Tomori’s close-range finish, as well as red cards for Theo Hernandez, Davide Calabria, and Denzel Dumfries, made for a tense finish, but Inter held on to win and earn the league title.

Following the defeat, Adli spoke with Milan TV on the painful night, and MilanNews echoed his views.

Were there any inaccuracies in the finer details?

“When you make mistakes like this you concede goals, we knew it and unfortunately we made mistakes again. This season we have conceded many goals from corners and we weren’t careful, when you don’t pay attention to the details at this level it’s tough. We tried, but unfortunately it’s not enough.”

Is this a youth project?

“We have many young people on the team, and we understand that this project will take longer than a year or two. We are a team that may still grow, but we are deeply sorry to have lost this match.BREAKING: Adli is devastated after'mistakes' cost Milan the Derby: "We feel very sorry".

There is a season to finish…

“Yes, we now have to finish second and return to work for our season, which has yet to end. We are upset, though; we tried but it wasn’t enough, and we feel awful for the supporters.”
