A MASSIVE SETBACKA: “Skylar Thompson’s temper Costs him”, NFL Suspends QB for Unsportsmanlike conduct.

Miami Dolphins Quarterback Skylar Thompson Suspended for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

In a surprising move, the National Football League (NFL) announced today that Miami Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson has been suspended for two games without pay for violating the league’s conduct policy.

The suspension stems from an incident during Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, where Thompson was involved in a heated altercation with Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore. The altercation resulted in Thompson being ejected from the game.

According to the NFL, Thompson’s actions were deemed unsportsmanlike and in violation of the league’s conduct policy. The policy prohibits players from engaging in physical confrontations or using abusive language towards opponents, teammates, or officials.

“We take these incidents very seriously,” said NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan in a statement. “Players are expected to maintain a level of sportsmanship and respect towards others, even in the heat of competition.”

Thompson, a seventh-round draft pick out of Kansas State, has been a pleasant surprise for the Dolphins this season. He has filled in admirably for injured starter Tua Tagovailoa, leading the team to two victories in his three starts.

However, Thompson’s temper has been a concern for coaches and teammates. This incident marks the second time this season Thompson has been involved in an on-field altercation.

“Skylar’s a competitive kid, and sometimes that competitiveness gets the best of him,” said Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. “We’ll work with him to channel that energy in a more positive way.”

The suspension will cost Thompson $143,000 in lost salary. He will miss the Dolphins’ upcoming games against the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Thompson released a statement apologizing for his actions and accepting the suspension. “I let my emotions get the best of me, and that’s unacceptable. I’ll learn from this and move forward.”

The Dolphins will now turn to backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to lead the team in Thompson’s absence.
