According to Dennis Rodman, the Chicago Bulls ought to have taken home the 1999 NBA Title.

Dennis Rodman promoted his 30 on 30 on ESPN’s First Take back in 2020. Speaking in a way only Dennis Rodman could, he was obviously uncomfortable. This information was gleaned from an older interview; it is not new. But since it’s a holiday, I figured it would be a good idea to revisit the vault. Despite being viewed as a failure in San Antonio because of his temperament and poor fit with the Spurs, Rodman is still one of the all-time great rebounders.

He played for a team that pioneered the rough-and-tumble style of basketball, which ultimately overthrew the Lakers and Celtics and forced famous players into retirement: the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons. Following the Spurs, he settled down with the incredibly skilled Chicago Bulls, who won not one, not two, but three titles in the nineties. Rodman, who is renowned for his sarcastic remarks meant to annoy, said:

“With these guys, I wanted to win championships.” Any time of day, I would go to fight with these men. It was just disheartening since we had a very easy chance to win a fourth championship. This picture comes to mind when I hear him say it
