The New York Jets have scored a significant coup in the NFL offseason, signing superstar edge rusher Haason Reddick to a four-year, $165 million contract. The deal, considered to be the richest ever paid to a defensive player in Jets history, follows Reddick’s breakout 2022 season, in which he tallied 16 sacks and 32 QB pressures for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Haason Reddick is one of the most feared pass-rushers in the league, and we are thrilled to bring him to New York,” Jets general manager Joe Douglas said in a statement.
The acquisition of Reddick represents a significant investment in the Jets’ defense, which has struggled in recent years to generate consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
“We knew we needed to upgrade our pass rush if we wanted to compete at the highest level, and Haason is the perfect player to do that,” said Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
