DONE DEAL: Bears Bolster Offense and Special Teams with DeAndre Carter Signing.

DeAndre Carter signs with the Bears for a one-year deal.

 

 

 

On Tuesday, the Bears announced the signing of veteran receiver/return specialist DeAndre Carter to a one-year contract. In 2020, Carter, at thirty-one, made four appearances for the Bears. With the Eagles (2018), Texans (2018–20), Bears (2020), Commanders (2021), Chargers (2022), and Raiders (2023), he has participated in 94 games over the course of six seasons, making 21 starts. He has hauled in 108 catches for 1,259 yards and six touchdowns; on 118 kickoff returns, he averaged 22.4 yards with one touchdown, and on 132 punt returns, he averaged 9.8 yards.

 

 

 

He had his best offensive season in 2022 while playing for the Chargers. Carter tied a career record with three touchdown catches and set career highs with 46 grabs and 538 yards. Carter caught four catches for 39 yards in 17 games with the Raiders in 2023. He also averaged 23.8 yards on 11 kickoff returns and 9.7 yards on 24 punt returns.
