Six Milan players face uncertain future as Summer exodus looms.
AC Milan is entering a critical summer period, and no player on the roster is confident of sticking with the club in 2024-25, according to reports.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), much of the focus will be on the next head coach and the new arrivals, but there will also be some interesting departures, with Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, and Rafael Leao being the primary suspects. The answer is simple: they have the most suitors, on paper. The two French duo’s contracts expire in 2026, and they are asking for an increase of up to €8 million net per season, which is much more than Leao makes.
Milan considered Leao’s extension as an exception to their pre-established salary ceiling, which complicates the renewals of Theo and Maignan, with Bayern Munich keen to recruit both.
Looking at the defensive group, Fikayo Tomori is somewhat more important than Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw, but according to the report, at least one of the three could leave. The same is true for the midfield, with one or two of Ismael Bennacer, Yacine Adli, and Tommaso Pobega perhaps leaving for a better offer. In short, there might be a significant amount of turnover.
