Curva Sud announces a protest for Milan-Genoa and explains why: “A clear and strong signal”
The Curva Sud has stated that they would organize a protest before AC Milan‘s match against Genoa to deliver a ‘clear and forceful signal to the club’.
Milan has failed to meet numerous targets this season, the most recent of which was to avoid defeat in the derby, which the Rossoneri were unable to do. The outcome delivered a strong message to the club, which had become obvious to the fanbase: progress was required under the leadership of a new head coach.
In the weeks after, the Diavolo has been linked to a number of candidates, each of whom has received varying degrees of fan approval. Julen Lopetegui was reported to be the preferred candidate, but after a petition expressing the supporters’ emotions, the club would seek alternatives.
The message has been reinforced by the Curva Sud, which issued a statement this morning regarding this weekend’s match.
“Let the club send a clear and strong signal that it intends to strengthen the project it launched last summer.”
“We invite the rest of the public present at the stadium to join this form of protest, which has the sole goal of encouraging the club to continue with the line of investment undertaken last season, focusing on a coach who knows how to stimulate the group and enhance the youth, and making targeted purchases in the roles left unfilled this season.
“It is not up to us, as always, to make choices and names. The important thing is that the club sends a clear and strong signal that it wants to strengthen the project set up last summer.
“Always with Milan in our hearts!”
For Milan, this decision is vital. Stefano Pioli has built and strengthened the foundations of the team until now, and the Rossoneri must find a head coach that aligns with the project demanded by the management and the supporters.
