Midfield changes beckon for Milan – targets and potential sells.
AC Milan are poised to make more midfield changes in the summer, despite signing three new players in the 2023 summer transfer window.
According to Calciomercato.it, there will be a midfield shift, but it will not be as drastic as last summer’s revolution.
It seems evident that one new midfielder will be joining the club, as there is a need for a proper defensive midfielder who can assist the defense more efficiently than those currently on the roster.
Milan has been associated with a number of candidates for this position, including Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana. He may cost more than Milan would want, but he is more likely to join the Premier League. For similar reasons, they may be unable to sign Khephren Thuram.
There are two profiles in the Premier League who have just one year on their contracts. There is Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat who is expected to return to Fiorentina from his loan.
There is a very real chance that Ismael Bennacer will leave the club this summer, with interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia. Yacine Adli could also be sold if the right bid were to come in, which would then mean two midfielders have to be signed.
