Kieran Trippier’s return date has been “revealed” following’strange’ airport images that have piqued Newcastle United fan interest.
Newcastle United fans began to speculate about Kieran Trippier’s future after new photos surfaced on social media. The Newcastle United right-back has missed the last seven games while recovering from a calf injury sustained against Wolverhampton Wanderers in March. An early two-week layoff has proven inaccurate, and Trippier appears no closer to returning.
“I’ve had a calf issue, and at this point in the season, with the number of games I’ve played, we need to take extra precautions,” he told the match programme on Saturday. “It is critical that there are no setbacks. I don’t want to come back and re-injure myself, so I’m simply checking off every box.”
His absence came just weeks after he declined a hefty offer from Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel wanted Trippier to join the Bundesliga club alongside former Tottenham Hotspur teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier.
Newcastle rejected two offers, the highest of which was worth roughly £12 million, despite his age and term of contract. Trippier has little over a year remaining on his current contract, fueling curiosity about his future. Eagle-eyed Toon supporters noticed the 33-year-old going through Newcastle Airport’s duty-free area. Doddsy, a Newcastle supporter, disclosed that Trippier was on his way to Dubai while his colleagues prepared for a trip to Burnley this weekend.
That elicited skeptical replies, implying that the defender’s time on Tyneside may be coming to an end. One remark read: “The whole affair is a little odd, with Howe now dodging around queries about when he’ll return, etc. He’ll be leaving in the summer for one final payout in Saudi Arabia and £15-20 million for #NUFC to help with FFP/PSR.”
Another concurred, describing the scenario as “strange” and expected him to go. He wrote, “This is a strange situation.” He doesn’t even feel like a member of the group anymore. “We haven’t heard anything about or from him. I believe he will be away in the summer.” However, tales quickly appeared describing Trippier’s airport appearance. According to the Daily Mail, he is traveling to the Middle East for rehabilitation, with Newcastle expecting him to return against Brighton on May 11.
