Milan expects to win the Zirkzee competition with €35 million in revenue and a €40 million man.

Joshua Zirkzee is at the top of AC Milan’s want list coming into the summer transfer window, and a report reveals how the club’s management intends to win the race to sign him.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Geoffrey Moncada and the mercato team have put Zirkzee at the top of their list of preferred players as they look to invest in a new centre-forward. The Bologna star, who has erupted this season under Thiago Motta’s tutelage (and is also on the radar of the Rossoneri, who will soon have to replace Stefano Pioli), is admired for his potential, physical and technical abilities, and understanding of Italian game.

Milan expects to win the Zirkzee competition with €35 million in revenue and a €40 million man.

However, envisioning Zirkzee in a red and black shirt will be difficult, especially given the huge level of competition – both from Italian and international clubs – which might drive up the asking price even further.

Milan is prepared for the fight because they understand that they will need to make a large investment in attack and will do everything they can to secure their number one target, who is worth at least €40 million. The strategy is simple: a large portion of the funds will come from the sales of Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers to Atalanta and Bologna, respectively.

Both are on loan with the option to buy, and it appears that both the Bergamo club and the Emilian side are eager to exercise that option, bringing in about €23 million and €12 million for the Belgian playmaker and winger.
