REPORT: The Milan target met with Napoli representatives for contract negotiations.
AC Milan has spent the last year scouring the market for a striker to replace Oliver Giroud when the time comes, and with him poised to leave this summer, they will need to find one quickly. According to a fresh report, they may lose one of their objectives to a Serie A competitor.
This season, the question has been: when will Milan recruit a striker? Not Will Milan sign another striker? Fans and the club recognise the need to invest on their next number nine. Questions remain, with Milan always scouting the market for the finest value-for-money striker capable of producing the stats required for the club to succeed.
For the majority of the previous several months, a preferred trio has emerged: Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are admired, but Joshua Zirkzee is the player that genuinely catches the club’s attention. Jonathan David was once one of those three, but his popularity has dipped slightly. Nonetheless, he could still be heading to Serie A.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Canadian attacker and his entourage recently met with Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s soon-to-be sporting director, to discuss the statistics required for him to join the club.
