Malick Thiaw drew a yellow card in Sunday’s Serie A game against Sassuolo, and he will be suspended against Inter next week. Thiaw, a German centre-back, will miss the Derby della Madonnina on April 22 after collecting a yellow card in Milan’s 3-3 away draw against Sassuolo on Sunday.Milan defender to miss derby encounter after collecting a yellow card against Sassuolo.

The 22-year-old was booked for a foul on Andrea Pinamonti in the second half, and he will be ineligible when the Rossoneri face their local rivals at San Siro in eight days. Thiaw also appeared to suffer an injury in the final minutes, so it’s unclear whether he’ll be fit against Roma in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday.

The German defender was limping heavily, but he remained on the field after Stefano Pioli made five substitutes. Thiaw has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, missing two and a half months of action between November 2023 and February 2024 due to a hamstring muscle injury.
