GREAT NEWS: Milan’s current target is a striker with 23 goals.
AC Milan is seeking for a striker ahead of next season, with Olivier Giroud heading to Los Angeles, and a new name has arisen on their radar: Kevin Denkey. According to the report, management is actively monitoring him.
Denkey now plays for Belgian club Cercle Brugge and has 23 goals in 28 league matches this season. The 23-year-old began his professional career in France before joining his current club in 2021, and this is his breakout season.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan is closely monitoring Denkey’s progress because he is valued at €15 million. Giroud’s exit, combined with the uncertainty surrounding Luka Jovic’s future, suggests that the Rossoneri may acquire two forwards, one of which may be the Togo international.
Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee remains the big target for Milan, as the report concludes, and Denkey could thus arrive as a dedicated deputy. It would certainly be a low-cost signing for the Rossoneri and given the player’s evident potential, the deal could have huge upsides.
Meanwhile, Milan will have to rely on Giroud, who did not have his finest performance against Roma, squandering a close-range shot.
