Report: AC Milan preparing to extend Pulisic’s contract.
AC Milan is reportedly considering extending Christian Pulisic’s contract by one season. According to Monday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, Milan has already been sufficiently impressed with the American to use its option to extend his contract for one additional season. When Pulisic joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea in the summer, he signed a contract until 2027, which might now be extended until 2028.
The allegation comes amid a season in which Pulisic has already established a career high for goals with 13, including ten in Serie A. Only three players in Serie A have more non-penalty goals than Pulisic this season, and only five have more combined goals and assists.
Corriere dello Sport described Pulisic as his club’s “best summer signing,” adding that the 25-year-old is settling comfortably and enjoying life in Italy after four seasons in England. Milan head coach Stefano Pioli heaped praise on Pulisic following his latest goal, which came in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Lecce.
“I must say that when I have video meetings to explain to a player what our path and ideas are, I’m rarely wrong about personal and character sensations,” the coach was quoted as saying by DAZN. “Pulisic is a good player, and I knew him. But after we spoke twice or three times, I heard something extremely nice. I sensed yearning and curiosity in him. I found everything I’d heard.
“He’s not the type of guy to open up a lot; it’s his mindset that makes the difference. He has a terrific attitude towards the team and everyone. As an exceptional worker and professional, like all Milan players, this has enhanced the level of professionalism and seriousness, which will enable the group become even better.”
