DONE DEAL: Newcastle offers Real Sociedad star “€25 million plus €5 million in bonuses”; significant claims from Spain.
Newcastle United has reportedly made a first offer for Real Sociedad defender Robin Le Normand, according to rumors that surfaced from the Spanish media Friday night.
According to Spanish writer Ruben Uria, we have put out a preliminary proposal offering €25 million up front with an additional €5 million in bonuses.
Despite being a right-sided center back, the 27-year-old has spent his career playing on both sides. Although he was born in France, he has nine caps for Spain and has participated in seven of Real Sociedad’s eight Champions League games this year. Real Sociedad advanced from the group stages before falling to PSG in the round of 16.
We are not the only team eager to sign Le Normand, if Uria’s audacious allegations are accurate. He claims that Napoli is offering €27 million plus €5 million in bonuses for the defender, while La Liga rival Atletico Madrid has offered €20 million plus Javi Galan.
The 6′ 2″ Frenchman will be familiar with Alexander Isak because the two played together at Real Sociedad when the Swede was living in Spain.
