Latrell Mitchell, a star player in the NRL, could have to pay up to $2500 in fines after being implicated in the accident that caused Josh Addo-Car’s horrific concussion.

Superstar of the NRL Latrell Mitchell could be fined up to $2500 for the incident that caused horrifying brain damage to Josh Addo-Carr.

The match review committee charged 26-year-old Mitchell with grade-one dangerous contact on Saturday after he collected Addo-Carr with his hip during South Sydney’s 20-16 victory on Good Friday.

Just before halftime, the Canterbury winger went over the sideline and the fullback raced across to make a cover tackle.

Mitchell tried to help and hold up the Bulldogs winger Addo-Carr, but he crashed face first to the ground.

The challenge was ruled hazardous and worthy of a charge by the match review committee, despite referee Gerard Sutton’s apparent “incidental” statement to the bunker.

Mitchell can accept a $1800 fine with an early guilty plea, and there is little chance that he will miss any matches due to the charge.

For Addo-Carr, however, things are different because he will miss the Sydney Roosters’ round five match on Friday because of NRL concussion regulations.

Immediately following halftime, he was spotted roaming around on the sideline, which was relieving for coach Cameron Ciraldo.

In the meantime, Kurtis Morrin, the interchange prop for the Bulldogs, might miss the Roosters match due to a potentially three-game suspension for a dangerous throw on Cameron Murray.

Because of the tackle, Morrin was sent off in the second half; however, if he enters an early guilty plea, his suspension can be reduced to just two games.

Jack Wighton, a centre for the Rabbitohs, escaped a charge following reports that he may have tackled Canterbury second-rower Jacob Preston with his hip.

With a well-earned victory that prevented four straight losses, South Sydney’s coach Jason Demetriou was relieved at the final siren.
