SAD NEWS: Latrell knocks Addo-Carr out in a crude moment.
Josh Addo-Carr was knocked out in frightening scenes against the Rabbitohs, so it’s likely he won’t play when the Bulldogs play the Roosters next week.
Just before the half ended, the Canterbury winger tried to score from the sidelines but was struck in the head by Latrell Mitchell’s hip, who was covering for Addo-Carr in defense.
Following the incident, the 28-year-old lay unmoving on the ground. He didn’t appear to regain consciousness until both parties were off the ground.
Regarding Nine’s coverage, NRL Legend Andrew Johns concurred with the official.
“All accidental, he just gets his head caught up,” he stated.
“I don’t think there’s anything illegal in it.”
At halftime, Addo-Carr was immediately sent for an HIA but was later ruled out due to category one symptoms.
At the interval, Allana Ferguson remarked, “It was pretty scary to see him the way he was when it first happened.”
The Bulldogs experienced another terrifying situation in the second half when Jacob Preston was also eliminated.
The forward crashed into Shaquai Mitchell’s shoulder as he attempted to tackle him and spent a considerable amount of time on the ground.
This is a big crash, Johns remarked.
After the incident, although referee Sutton was able to maintain control over the game, tensions threatened to explode as both sides rallied.
“A little push and shove is going on right now,” Billy Slater continued.
Preston was eventually declared to have category two symptoms and exited the field. The forward then passed his HIA and, quite shockingly, came back.
Shaquai Mitchell walked out for his own HIA with 20 minutes remaining in the game after claiming to have hazy vision, which was thought to be related to the same incident.
