Craig Bellamy was pleased with his team’s comeback from a 14-0 deficit, but he was ultimately disappointed with their 14-12 defeat to the Knights.

Bellamy found it difficult to summarize his team’s first-half performance after Newcastle overtook them by a significant margin.

Wishart performed admirably tonight, in my opinion, and Jonah assumed a little more responsibility. While Jahrome’s absence is not our fault, there are times when you lose important players and you have to make up for it.

“Our second half clearly shows that if we had continued to play that way for the full 80 minutes, maybe the outcome would have been different.”

Regarding Nelson Asofa-Solomona’s possible comeback to the side, Ad Bellamy gave an update.

Bellamy remarked, “I’m not quite sure where everybody is at the moment because we have a bye next week.”

“Joey Chan is likely back for the next game as well, although Nelson played with the Bears today. He hasn’t been practicing much, so he may need a little more time.

At the end of the day, you have to make due with what you have, and dwelling on what you lack will not benefit anyone.

“We were a little let down by the way we played the first half of today. We improved in the second half, but we weren’t quite able to reach our goals in the end.”

When Asofa-Solomona returns, Bellamy predicted playing him in the middle rather than on the periphery.

Bellamy responded, “If I had to answer that right now, I’d say in the middle.”

In the end, I felt Shawn (Blore) performed a very fantastic job today. That was his first time with us. And I felt he did a really fantastic job. It surprised me that he played for as long as he did. And I felt he did an excellent job.

Therefore, I believe we have a solid player there. We simply have to give him some more time there. Eliesa has clearly taken the right side and made it his own. Thus, to sum up, I was really pleased with Shawn tonight, and I believe the players were too.

Bellamy provided an update on the rib injury sustained by Reimis Smith.

Bellamy responded, “Yeah, I think he had something wrong with his rib, I’m not exactly sure.”

“It’s evidently not a cartilage, as they seem to have stated that they are unable to inject it, which is typically the case for someone receiving a cartilage.”

Regarding Munster’s return, Bellamy likewise had no information.

“I’m not certain. Not sure,” Bellamy replied.

Bellamy declined to comment when Leo Thompson was put under investigation for striking Ryan Papenhuyzen in midair.

Bellamy remarked, “I think he had eyes for the ball.”

However, I won’t have to make a decision at the end of the day and I won’t get into one.

“Making the decisions you have to make is difficult enough. I’ll let them handle that, then.
