The Queensland property spans 3.5 hectares of remote land, with 250 meters of private beachfront, and is situated just outside Bowen on the shores of Murray Bay.

Being a true north orientation towards the water, the location is known as a ‘gateway to the Whitsundays’ and features three separate residences and three self-contained units.

The tropical estate was bought by current owner and former rugby league star Mike McLean from Rinehart’s company Hancock Prospecting in 2020.

With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the main house opens on to beautiful planted grounds and expansive views of the sea.

The other two homes, meanwhile, feature two baths and three bedrooms.

Three newly remodeled units provide more space; they include a larger family unit and two studio flats, all of which are furnished with modern conveniences.

There are also a beach shack, shed, carport, and seaside pavilion on the property.

When the land was owned by Rinehart, it was said to have been utilized to house Hancock Prospecting employees.

“The only private haven to grace Murray Bay,” according to the Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty ad, describes the property.

Furthermore, according to the listing, the property can only be reached through high-security gates that “declare exclusivity from the road and ensure that every guest is welcomed by appointment only.”

The coastal estate has a natural spring and is “flanked by crown land and offers only walking access to the bay.”

Because of its tourism/residential zoning, the property can be used as a residence or a resort. The legendary NRL player is trying to sell the opulent tropical mansion he bought from a mining magnate.

The description states, “This estate offers a curated canvas for your grandest aspirations, whether you envision a premium resort, caravan park, lifestyle hotel/licensed venue, or you wish to retain this slice of paradise as your own private retreat.”

Although there isn’t a price listed, the owners are still accepting offers.
