When Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure departed Milan for the Premier League last summer, the directors Antonio D’Ottavio and Geoffrey Moncada had planned to profit, but the two have not impressed.

Origi was sold by the Rossoneri to Nottingham Forest on a free transfer with a €4.5 million buyout option. The English team will pay Origi’s entire €4 million in net earnings every season. It looked like the correct move to return to the Premier League, especially in light of his past with Liverpool. Ballo-Toure, for his part, signed a dry loan agreement with Fulham on transfer deadline day, which means he will return to Milan in the summer without any buyout options or commitments. It was hoped that after missing out in the capital of the Lombardy, he would find his form again.Millions at stake as Milan loanees fail in the Premier League.

Before the summer transfer season begins, Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com points out that Milan is currently in a difficult situation with the two and needs to find new homes for both when the market opens. At the end of the season, Origi is expected to return from Nottingham Forest, as the Rossoneri have no interest in keeping him. The team is currently looking into potential destinations for the striker in Turkey and the MLS.

Ballo-Toure’s situation appears to be more challenging; in five Premier League games, he has played just 53 minutes, and his stocks have dropped significantly, resulting in a sharp decline in his market worth.
