Hooker Freddy Lussick has been re-signed by the New Zealand Warriors for a two-year contract that will expire at the end of the 2026 campaign.

Last Saturday, Lussick filled in for Wayde Egan and played in his 36th NRL game—his 25th for the team—against the Melbourne Storm.

Freddy Lussick, who signed with the Warriors in 2022, made his NRL debut for the Sydney Roosters in 2020. He is the younger brother of Parramatta Eels hooker Joey Lussick and former NRL player Darcy Lussick.

Surprisingly, two of his father Jason Lussick’s three NRL outings for the Manly Sea Eagles came against the Warriors.

Lussick stated in a club statement, “Obviously, I’m extremely excited to extend my time here at the Warriors.”

As a group and a club, we seem to be heading in a very obvious direction right now.

“Under Webby and the coaching staff, I want to keep improving and rounding out my game and learning from the senior boys that we have here.”

Speaking on Lussick’s re-signing, head coach Andrew Webster expressed his satisfaction that he would be staying with the team for an additional two seasons.DONE DEAL: Hooker signs a two-year contract with the Warriors.

He remarked, “Freddy does an amazing job for us in every way.”

“He demonstrated an exceptional attitude to training and game improvement during the preseason.

“This new two-year contract is just compensation for the daily work he does for our club,” the statement reads.
