LeBron James has already been ruled out of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at the Chase Center. Now, the team has received additional negative news regarding injuries.
Christian Wood’s absence from the Los Angeles Lakers for the upcoming games has been revealed.
Following an effusion in his left knee (swelling), Wood, who is averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game for the Lakers, will have another evaluation by medical professionals in two weeks.
In his new Lakers clothing, Wood has had a mixed start to the season. He recently tweeted, “lol,” just after the Los Angeles starting lineup against the Atlanta Hawks was revealed without him in it. During the trade deadline, Wood was strongly linked to a number of clubs. According to rumors, the Lakers may have been considering trading Wood for a second-round pick in order to get out of his contract.
The Lakers would prefer to have Wood return sooner rather than later, even though he had a mixed season. The squad needs a big man who can spread the floor offensively while they battle with injuries. That’s what Wood can offer right off the bench.
For the Lakers’ nationally broadcast game against the Warriors on Thursday, it’s not just Wood and James who are absent. Due to injuries, Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent are still sidelined. In the team’s first game following the All-Star break, Anthony Davis is expected to play but Max Christie and Cam Reddish are doubtful.
