Sean Dyche is reportedly starting to focus on the summer transfer window and getting ready to make some brutal decisions at Goodison Park as Everton nervously awaits the outcome of their appeal against their 10-point deduction for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations earlier in the season.

News about Everton transfers

Since a few months ago, the talk about possible departures rather than arrivals at Everton has dominated the headlines, and with the summer transfer window drawing near, this trend is unlikely to change very soon.

The two most well-known names connected to a departure are Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana. Chelsea is apparently still interested in Onana, who is valued at £51 million. Meanwhile, Branthwaite’s name has been connected to major teams like Real Madrid in what would presumably be a dream transfer at a high price.

Big-money exits from Everton this summer are conceivable, which is not shocking considering their need to balance the books following two FFP accusations. The Toffees will be forced to approve the sales of several important players if they are to exit the Premier League. But Dyche isn’t exactly desperate to hang onto one player.Dyche is serious: a report claims that a "brilliant" player has no future at Everton.

Mason Holgate has no future at Everton under Dyche, according to Wayne Veysey of Football Insider. The defender, who is presently on loan at Sheffield United, made headlines last time out when he tackled Kaoru Mitoma horribly and was sent out after just 13 minutes.

Holgate is on his second loan of the year after being loaned to the Blades by Everton and recalled earlier in the season after failing to establish himself as a regular enough member of Russell Martin’s Southampton squad.

“Brilliant” Holgate requires new beginnings

Holgate’s career at Everton has declined recently, despite beginning brightly after finalizing a transfer worth an estimated £2 million in 2015. Holgate, who was 18 years old at the time, is now 27 years old and may reflect on his time spent on Merseyside, as it seems that his time at Everton is drawing to an end.

Following Everton’s 2021 victory against Liverpool, Peter Crouch, among others, praised the defense at one point. Crouch told the Daily Mail about this.

But three years on, Holgate isn’t the player Crouch thought he would be, and he needs to go again at the end of the season in hopes of making a permanent move from Goodison Park.
