The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly inking linebacker Ezekiel Turner to a one-year contract, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.
“Ezekiel Turner gets a one year deal with #49ers with prime opportunity to showcase skill at Iinebacker and as a core special teams contributor,” Wilson said on Twitter.
2018 saw the signing of Turner (6-2, 214) by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Washington. According to Pro Football Reference, he had 16 game appearances (one start) with the Cardinals last season and recorded 20 tackles.
Turner, a vital member of the special teams squad during his career, played 345 special teams snaps in 2023 and 328 in 2022. The 49ers re-signed Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and signed De’Vondre Campbell, but they lost linebacker Oren Burks to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.
Over his six NFL
seasons, Turner, 27, has had 80 game appearances (three starts) and has 83 tackles, including three for a loss. All of those games were played with the Cardinals.
